Statement GIT 2020:

In the past couple of weeks, we have been working really hard to make sure that GIT 2020 would be the best and yet safest edition so far. We had written down the plan to have social distancing and as contact-free as possible. Unfortunately, Covid-19 has chosen otherwise. In Belgium, numbers are unfortunately rising again and it doesn’t look like it will be better in a month. For us, the safety of the players, spectators, staff, volunteers and every other person involved is the highest priority. We feel that we can’t guarantee that and we don’t want to be the place that helps corona even more. Because of this, we have decided with pain in our hearts that we won’t be organising this year. We were really hopeful at the beginning of July and had everything planned and worked out but nature has beaten us for this year. We have been waiting long and maybe too long to make this decision as we wanted to give it a chance and really wanted to organise a tournament as we all miss playing our beautiful sport. Unfortunately, the 8th edition of GIT won’t be in 2020 but in 2021 one.

Next year we will try to make a great tournament again where the hope to see you all again. Teams will be refunded and pre-registrations will start very soon, we will keep you up to date for this.

We are disappointed to do this but it is the safest for us all. If there would be any questions ask us on mail and our socials and we will try everything to help out.
